Has Adelaide gone too far? The club’s bitter treatment of Jake Lever reached fever pitch on Monday, with administration staff joining in on a club-wide “power stance” to see the wantaway defender off the premises.
“If publicly calling him a money-hungry prick and telling him not to come to the best and fairest didn’t get the point across, then this kind of confusing, yet somewhat intimidating posture surely will,” said Crows skipper Tex Walker. “You are not welcome here my friend.”
Lever’s departure from the Crows has been sullied by a great deal of acrimony, with several Adelaide figures publicly lashing the young star’s high-profile move to Melbourne apparently in hope that he’ll change his mind.
“And pass up a chance to play alongside the Pedobear?” said Lever, “They’re kidding themselves.”
