In a move many say is long overdue, Essendon legend Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti has been immortalised in the annals of our great game, as the AFL welcomed the superstar into its Hall of Fame in a heartfelt ceremony on Tuesday night.
Tipungwuti has played 33 games for the Bombers, booting 27 goals and singlehandedly breaking Essendon’s membership record two years running.
“It’s nice to get some official recognition from you blokes,” said the mild-mannered dynamo on stage at the ceremony last night. “Although none of you would stand a chance if you played today. I don’t care how far you can kick it Blighty, have you seen one of my rundown tackles in person?”
