Brent Harvey is living the life following his retirement from the AFL, with the 39-year-old telling friends and family that he has been blindsided by the luxuries on offer at his new football home in North Heidelberg.
“I’m getting paid $400 per game and I don’t even have to go and harass the guys in the office for it, they just pop it straight into my bank account every Monday,” said the bewildered 432-game champion. “The facilities are on another level and they’ve even got full sized Sherrins to train with.”
Harvey has starred for the Bulldogs so far this season, most recently gathering 54 disposals and booting nine goals against Panton Hill before driving directly to Brad Scott’s house to show him a VHS tape of the performance.
“Any chance of a rookie spot Brad?” he enquired. “I’ve got it pretty good up there but I’d come back in heartbeat, you just say the word.”
