Mark Robinson Spearheads Essendon March To The G

An army of Essendon fans marched in solidarity to the MCG ahead of last night’s stirring win over Hawthorn, and they were led by none other than Herald Sun chief football writer and number one ticket holder Mark Robinson.

Some big names were in attendance, including four-time premiership coach Kevin Sheedy and premiership players Paul Salmon and Dustin Fletcher, but none could match Robinson as he voiced his passion for the red and black, after blowing off an appearance on Fox Footy to join his compatriots.

“This is what it’s all about, we’ve been through so much as Essendon members and it feels so good to be able to down a few Woodstock cans and enjoy the footy together without the drug saga hanging over our heads,” the 49-year-old said before launching into a rousing rendition of the Essendon theme song.
