GWS star Josh Kelly is said to be seriously considering an offer tabled by the Kangaroos, with the opportunity to regularly play in front of the club’s large and passionate fanbase a huge part of the appeal.
“It’s what you dream of as a kid, to run out in front of a couple of hundred screaming fans at Etihad Stadium,” said Kelly. “Not to mention the blockbuster matches like Good Friday against the Western Bulldogs. It’s a very tempting offer indeed.”
North Melbourne coach Brad Scott is believed to have mortgaged his personal home to finance a bid for the out-of-contract Kelly, with the offer said be in excess of $60,000 a season plus matchday bonuses if he can keep his Powerade consumption to a minimum.
Kelly has said he won’t make a decision on his future until after the Giant’s finals campaign.
