Umpires Kindly Offer Joel Selwood Free Ride To, During and Home From Game

The umpires for Geelong’s first match of the season have gone beyond their usual accommodating nature regarding Joel Selwood, generously offering the Cats skipper transport to and home from the game in addition to the typical free ride he’ll receive across the four quarters.

Selwood is set to have his license stripped after being caught by police doing 127 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. When asked by the officer if there was a reason for speeding, he responded by saying was working on a new low-budget television commercial and the shoot wasn’t to be missed.

Former teammate Billie Smedts was in the vehicle at the time and police will be using his custom-made selfie stick as evidence of the crime.
